Come join us for a lunch presentation by the Dutch Senator & Social Science Professor at Rotterdam University, Peter Ester.

Fascinating two-part presentation:

1) The unique story of outstanding Dutch-American entrepreneurs
Dutch-American entrepreneurs founded a number of highly successful companies: Amway, Prince Manufacturing, Meijer, Herman Miller, Waste Management, Blockbuster, AutoNation, and numerous others. What is the secret to their amazing success?  In his most recent book, “Faith, Family & Fortune” (Van Raalte Press, 2012), Peter Ester focuses on the stories of a number of outstanding Dutch-American entrepreneurs and attempts to explain the cultural roots of their success. In his presentation, Prof. Ester will address the intriguing relationship between immigration, culture, religion and entrepreneurship.

2) Recent political developments in the Netherlands
In the second part of his presentation, Professor Ester – also a Dutch Senator – will comment on recent political developments in the Netherlands. The current Dutch coalition government does not have a majority in the Senate.  As a result, non-coalition parties have been able to obtain significant concessions from the government.  In the Senate, Prof. Ester focuses on economic affairs, agriculture, social affairs and employment, finance, infrastructure, environment and Kingdom Relations. Prof. Ester will also share his experience in the inauguration of King Willem Alexander in April of this year.
